Hamilton Island, QLD
George and I just had such a magical paradise escape to beautiful Hamilton Island while the boys had a fun weekend staying with my parents. It always feels like the logistics of these weekends away from the kids are so overwhelming, but as soon as we dropped them at school on the Thursday morning and drove off down to the airport, it already felt so so worth it.
Hamilton Island is the most perfect spot for a weekend escape. It is so relaxing, calming & insanely beautiful — the whole island has such a holiday vibe. We stayed at the exceptional Beach Club and loved every second of it, and we spent our days exploring the island in our golf buggy, wandering the shops, or just reading our books by the pool while sipping on cocktails for George and mocktails for me haha. It was bliss. We were there for 3 nights and had absolutely delicious dinners at Bommie, Coca Chu & Romano’s.
It turned out to be the perfect timing for a baby moon, and also just perfect timing to take a mini break from the everyday chaos. Life can go so so so fast, especially at the start of the year when everything can feel like such a hustle — it’s so nice to step back and get some perspective on everything. This year is going to be such a busy one for us — Zachie started school, and we have a baby coming in June, all while we build our home. Wild haha! But now we feel rejuvenated and ready to get back into the craziness, albeit with a bit of island chilled-out-ness intact!
